For marketers, “vibe coding” mostly means one thing: describing a landing page in plain English and getting a working page with a form, without waiting on a developer. We gave four AI app builders the same landing-page brief on Oct 29, 2026, a one-page site for a fictional bookkeeping service called “LedgerLight”, and logged the minutes, the fixes and what each tool made up on its own.

Quick verdict

Our verdict

If you want to… Start with
Build a landing page free, today Bolt Free: working in about 2–3 minutes with no fixes, using about 15K of the 300K daily tokens
Get the page and a working form with the fewest surprises Lovable or Base44: both working in about 3–5 minutes, form saved to a database, no fixes
Avoid invented claims on the page Any of them, but check the copy. Lovable and Softr wrote FAQ and plan text we didn’t ask for, Bolt added a made-up “Trusted by 500+” badge, and Softr a made-up “Trusted by 1,000+” one
Put it on your own domain A paid plan in Lovable and Bolt. Base44 and Softr also gate custom domains by plan (details below)

The brief we used

This is the exact prompt, pasted word for word into each tool. It’s in our prompt library along with a portfolio-page version for freelancers.

Build a one-page marketing landing page for a fictional bookkeeping service called "LedgerLight" for small businesses. Include a hero with headline and call-to-action button, three feature blocks, a three-tier pricing table ($49, $99, $199 per month), three testimonials clearly labeled as sample placeholders, an FAQ with five questions, and a contact form that saves submissions. Fast, modern, mobile-friendly.

Results

Tool (plan tested) Time to working Fixes Cost of this build Contact form What we had to watch
Bolt.new (Free) ~2–3 min 0 ~15K tokens Saved to a database table A made-up “Trusted by 500+ small businesses” badge; one stray “\u2019” instead of an apostrophe
Lovable (Pro) ~3 min 0 1.5 credits Saved to a database table FAQ and plan copy written by Lovable; no email alert on new submissions
Base44 (Builder) ~5 min 0 ~1.65 message credits Saved to a database table Placeholder contact email (hello@ledgerlight.example)
Softr (Basic) ~4 min 0 0.37 AI credits Saved to a database table Pricing defaulted to “Yearly” with invented $39/$79/$159; “Trusted by 1,000+” badge

What worked

  • Every tool built the page with zero fix messages, in 2 to 5 minutes. For simple marketing pages, this is the easiest job you can give these tools.
  • Every contact form actually saved. We submitted a test entry, and it appeared in a database table in all four tools (for example “contact_submissions” in Lovable and Bolt, “Leads” in Softr).
  • Sample testimonials were labeled. All four followed the instruction to mark testimonials as placeholders, which matters if anyone forgets to replace them before launch.
  • Mobile layouts held up in each tool’s phone preview.

What to check before you publish

  • Invented claims. Softr added a “Trusted by 1,000+ small businesses” badge and a yearly price toggle we never asked for. Bolt added its own “Trusted by 500+ small businesses” badge and lines like “Bank-grade security.” Lovable and Softr also wrote their own FAQ answers and plan features. Read every line, and delete numbers you can’t back up.
  • Prices. Softr’s toggle defaulted to yearly prices ($39/$79/$159), so a visitor would have seen numbers we never set. Check the default state of any toggle.
  • Who gets told about a new lead. The forms saved entries, but that doesn’t mean anyone gets an email. Lovable’s chat told us email notifications on form submit would need a paid plan and our own domain. We didn’t check notification options in the other tools.
  • Small text bugs. Bolt showed “we\u2019ll” instead of “we’ll” in one spot. Proofread on a phone as well as a desktop.
  • Placeholders. Base44 used hello@ledgerlight.example as the contact email. Replace sample names, emails and logos.

Publishing, badges and custom domains

We didn’t publish any of these pages, so this section comes from each vendor’s docs and pricing pages, checked Oct 29, 2026:

Tool Free plan branding Custom domain
Bolt.new Free plan sites show a “Made in Bolt” badge (Bolt FAQ) Not on Free; included from Pro (bolt.new/pricing)
Lovable Free can’t remove the “Edit with Lovable” badge (our Lovable pricing guide) Not on Free; paid plans only (Lovable docs)
Base44 Not checked From the Starter plan (base44.com/pricing)
Softr Not checked Not on Free; 1 custom domain on every paid plan, from Basic (Softr docs)

If your domain won’t connect in Lovable, see Lovable custom domain not working.

Other marketing builds worth trying

We’ve only tested the landing page. These are ideas, not results: a webinar or event sign-up page, a lead-magnet download page with an email form, a simple pricing calculator, or an internal tracker for campaign requests. If you try one, take the habits from our tested prompt with you: give exact prices and copy, ask for sample content to be labeled, and add “do not invent statistics, logos or prices.” Our prompt library marks which prompts we’ve run and which we haven’t.

Free-plan limits to know

  • Bolt Free: 1M tokens a month and 300K a day. Our landing page used about 15K, so the page itself is cheap. Fixes on bigger projects cost far more. See Bolt tokens and the daily limit.
  • Lovable Free: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Our landing page used 1.5 credits on Pro, so it should fit in a free day, but we haven’t run it on Free. See Lovable out-of-credits fixes.

Frequently asked questions

Can marketers build landing pages with AI app builders?

Yes. In our Oct 29, 2026 test, Bolt, Lovable, Base44 and Softr each built a one-page landing page with pricing, an FAQ and a working contact form in 2 to 5 minutes, with no fix messages. Lovable, Bolt and Softr also wrote copy we didn’t ask for, including made-up “Trusted by” badges from Bolt and Softr, so read it before you publish.

Which AI app builder is best for a marketing landing page?

For free, Bolt: its page was working in about 2–3 minutes using about 15K of its 300K daily free tokens. Delete the “Trusted by 500+” badge it made up. Lovable (about 3 minutes) and Base44 (about 5) also needed no fixes, on paid plans. Softr built the page but added invented yearly prices and a made-up “Trusted by 1,000+” badge.

Do the contact forms actually work?

In all four tools our test submission was saved to a database table. Saving isn’t the same as notifying you, though. Lovable’s chat told us email alerts would need a paid plan and our own domain, and we didn’t check alerts in the other tools.

Can I use my own domain on a free plan?

Not in Lovable or Bolt, where custom domains need a paid plan. Base44 lists custom domains from its Starter plan, and Softr says its Free plan doesn’t include one. Free sites in Bolt and Lovable also carry the builder’s badge.
