We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page. How we make money.

PrototypeVerdict publishes hands-on reviews and comparisons of AI app builders. This page explains what information is collected when you visit the site, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by PrototypeVerdict, and you can reach us at contact@prototypeverdict.com.

What we don’t collect

The site has no user accounts, no comments and no newsletter. We don’t ask you to sign up for anything, and right now no page on the site has a form that collects your details. If we add one, we’ll update this page. If you email us, we receive what you choose to send.

Information collected automatically

Hosting and server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudways, on DigitalOcean servers. Like most web servers, they keep standard logs of requests, which can include your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time of the request. These logs are used to run, secure and troubleshoot the site.

Security logging. We use the Wordfence security plugin to protect the site from attacks. Wordfence records visitor IP addresses and request details so it can spot and block malicious traffic.

Cloudflare. Cloudflare provides the site’s DNS and may process traffic to the site as part of that service, including your IP address. It also forwards email sent to contact@prototypeverdict.com to our inbox.

Images. The screenshots and images on our pages are hosted on our own site, not loaded from outside image services.

Analytics

We use, or may add, Google Analytics and Google Search Console through Google’s Site Kit plugin for WordPress. If analytics is turned on, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to measure things like which pages are visited, how long people stay and roughly where traffic comes from, and Google processes that data under its own policies. Search Console gives us reports on how the site appears in Google Search and doesn’t place cookies on your device. We use these reports only to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. We’ll update this page if how we use analytics changes.

Some links on this site are affiliate or referral links: they pass through a redirect on our site that can count clicks, and the company you land on may set its own cookie to record that you came from us.

How long we keep information

We keep server, security and analytics data only as long as it’s useful for running, securing and improving the site, and then it’s deleted or expires under the settings of the service that holds it. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use browser tools or extensions that block analytics. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, email contact@prototypeverdict.com and tell us what you’re asking for. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, and we may need some details to find the information you’re asking about.

Children’s privacy

The site is written for adults and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, for example by turning on analytics, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
